English below A financial system is necessary for every society, but there are numerous examples of overly extensive financial systems working against the interests of societies. Is it possible to build a financial system that benefits society? Nicholas Shaxson is a writer and investigative journalist and the author of the book The Finance Curse: How global finance is making us all poorer, which was chosen by the Financial Times as the book of the year in 2019. In the speech, Shaxson discusses the signs that financial systems have stopped serving the interests of the economy and society, and leads to to build a healthy financial system.
